contrary to my last posting re. new shoes, which was about shoes... !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! the subaru just got some meaty new rubber.

I traded my white painted WRX wheels for these Forester S wheels. The big, and I mean BIG, change is the tyre size. Went from 205/50/16 to 225/60/16. At full droop the rears don't fit in the wheel well (so I probably shouldn't get the car airborn, noted) and on turning bumps it rubs a little. But should be fine most of the time. If the "stance" crowd can do it, so can the Monkey.
so, a brief recap:
may 2011, when I bought the car if had these terrible 14 inch American Racing wheels.
July 2012 I got a flat, so I sold them (with one flat tyre) for $200, and for $250 I bought a set of WRX wheels with decent tyres.
May 2013 I painted the WRX wheels white, cost about $5 per wheel
August 2013, coming up to winter, the tread was starting to get low, so I started looked for a new option. And found these for $200, I liked them, but they were heavy. So I advertised both them and the WRX wheels on craigslist and decided to keep whichever didn't sell. Sold them within a few days for $220.
So, still got a tread issue, and winter is coming, and I desire better tyres! So, I advertise on CL willing to swap for wheels wiht good tyres, and last night I traded the white WRX wheels for the new Forester S ones... straight trade? uhh, no, he gave me $100 on top!
So,
May 2011: $0
Jul 2012: +200, -$250. overall -$50
May 2013: -$20
Aug 2013: -$200, +$220, overall +$20
Nov 2013: +100
So overall, I am up $50, AND I have not had to buy new tyres for 2-ish years, AND I have tyres currently that should last well over a year :D
